Is Dick Sherman really "the best in the NFL" right now...

As a former Defensive Back and Defensive MVP in a league across the Atlantic (who's 21 game high in tackles are about as many as Dick averages per year) I'd like to assume I understand the position and all that is involved. Your "Greatness" is now in question. As far as your opposition in today's vanilla version of the NFL  I am certain you, this year, have not faced anything like you will face in the Superbowl.

I see flaws...

So let's take a look at all of the top tier recievers Dick had the opportunity to "shut down" in 2013.

Here a list of them all:

1. Larry Fitzgerald - 5 catches 35 yards in two meetings...clearly the best WR of all he has had to match up against. The aging Larry Fitzgerald hasn't done much in the last couple of years aside of being a popular vote to the Pro Bowl. Yes he shut him down in both meetings however Fitzgerald has not been "Elite" in the last couple of years. Let's not forget the QB throwing the ball in these match ups as well. Carson Palmer is a bum...but let's not go there yet.

2. Andre Johnson - 9 catches for 110 Yards...again another aging All-Pro that has also been hampered by injuries. Johnson was a bright spot in this loss who was statistically too much to handle for Sherman. You can bet this game has already been reviewed by Manning and his coaches!

3. There are no more!

Honorable Mentions:

Ty Hilton - 5 catches for 140 yards and 2 scores including getting torched for a 73 yarder...Hmmm "the best" and his Defense were burned like the crowd in the local clinic in this one. Even the 103 year old Reggie Wayne had nabbed 6 grabs for 65 yards...so far "The Best in the NFL" isn't very impressive is he...

Michael Crabtree & Anquan Boldin - Not among the "Elite" by any means. One an aging #2 for his entire career with the speed of most defensive ends and the other had his achilles repaired only months ago. They tallied 9 catches for 105 yards and a score against the Seattle Defense.

Dick has had his hands full in the past with a banged up Roddy White giving up plays for receptions and touchdowns in the play offs last year around this time.

Dick Claiming his fame (after making what will probably be the "highlight" of his career) has accomplished exactly what his young arrogant mind wanted it to do... Thrust himself into the lime light. Instead of acting even just a little more professional, the immature Seahawk let the world know who he was and where he was from...and incase you didn't know - Compton - Los Angeles, California. Not since the early 90's hit 100 miles and runnin' have we been forced to hear something out of this hell hole. Even N.W.A. is pissed at this guy!

Who was that masked man?

If his TEAMATE (see no I) wasn't there to seal the deal with the interception, Richard Sherman would not have gotten a chanche to flap his gums regardless of the outcome. Nobody even knows his name.
Even Seattle fans forgot already!


Fact of it all is Richard Sherman and his self entitlement has not been the best because he hasn't faced the best. Drew Brees caught fire too late and still passed for 300 yards in the second half of their play off game with no legitimate threat in front of Sherman.

Brees is one of the top 3 at his position but aside of Jimmy Graham who is a TE, has no real threats at WR to throw to.

Peyton Manning is NOT Drew Brees and his arsenal is unlike any Dick Sherman has faced this year. This recieving corps is atop the competition setting and holding NFL records in previous years as well as this year. Stats never lie!

Dick Sherman yes your 8 Ints leads the NFL but are you really sure your the best? The 3 tied for second have 6 and a guy who has only been a starting DB since late November has 5!

Dick is no where to be found with the top tackling corners in the NFL. His 38 tackles are far from being "the best". Washington's Josh Wilson had 93 and the Giant's Prince Amukamara had 85 yet you screamed to the world that stayed watching that nobody is better than you!

For those who think Dick is the best defender at his position, think again...Dick Sherman doesn't even lead the league in passes defensed or in any other category that defines his claimings.

Let's leave the Greatness titles to the real "Dick" of the position...
8 interceptions are mediocre as far as greatness is concerned, in today's passing league you are far from the record books with your claim of dominance!

The INT record is 14.You and your low number of 8 are NO WHERE to be found!

Greatness is earned but you are just a young punk playing in a very very soft NFL...
