AFC Championship; Legends

Image courtesy of some lucky bastard at ESPN

When I think of future hall of fame quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, I think top 5 of all time. I think champions. I think record books.

When the Broncos play host to the Patriots this Sunday it's guaranteed to be 4 quarters greatness.

The two all time greats once again come face to face with more than just a championship on the line...its a signature to the end of their careers.

Seriously... At this stage in both of their careers you have already asked yourself..."how many more games can he win at this age?".

Doesn't matter which playing legend we are talking about and it doesn't matter what happened only weeks ago. It doesn't even matter that its going to be freezing at Mile High Stadium.

What matters is if you boil it all down to the bare bones, you have two 1990's prototype legends performing exactly like what they are...has been champions in the twighlight of their careers.

Manning, "My Record!"
Don't get me wrong they are both still playing at record breaking levels but its like Peyton Manning is a European stem cell experiment who's power boost is running out of time but has put up Madden type numbers.

Tom Brady is another story...He just refuses to admit that he will never be Joe Montana yet continues to win every year. Even with a very shabby group of no name skill players here he is once again in the AFC Championship. BORING!

Fact of it all is Manning has a great team around him and Brady does not. He just has one of the greatest head coaches ever in his corner who will probably have the AFC Championship Trophy named after him years down the road.

Manning was just the missing link in what is then, now and will forever be John Elways Broncos.

Hell even Tim Tebow won with this team and hes all but retired in his 20s!

2009 1st Round Draft Pick Knowshawn Moreno
The Broncos have a running back that is finally living up to his draft status.

I can't even call him Know Show Moreno any more! He has finally arrived!

Dude is an animal and unlike the future hall of fame runningbacks in the NFC Championship, he won't face 6,7,8 and 9 of the best defensive run stoppers on Sunday.

New England really can't afford to play run defense because Denver is too deep at WR so expect a 100 plus yards and a score out Moreno.

The Broncos offense and Manning are going to "dink and dunk" a very average Patriots defense all day long. Welker and Thomas will draw double coverage all day and Denver fans will be entertained the entire game.

Tom Brady has proved countless times he can win with anybody on "Anygiven Sunday".

However when he and coach Bill are pressured they have a history of going into that panic play calling mode. That used to work but Gronk is an after thought and his favorite WR is gonna grab at least 5 receptions and a score in this one, but that'll be for the Broncos.

The Pats still have no answer forWes Welker's departure and his 2013 replacement has been as injury prone as always. There is a possibility that Danny Amendola could be a factor but don't expect more than 3 or 4 grabs and maybe 60 yards.

I don't see Bellicheat relying on LaGarrette Blount to control the outcome in this one. He just played his best game as a pro but he did it against the Colts...need I say more.

He is so overrated and a Joh Fox Defense ain't having it.

So the only way the Patriots win this EPIC Match Up is if they get out of that "throw it to the white guy" attitude. Thats right, I just said that!

The Deciding Factor
Both QBs will eclipse 300 plus yards in this battle of modern era greats but look for a big "dink & dunk" pass play to Demaryius Thomas from Manning to be a deciding factor in this one.

NFL Fans can look forward to seeing Peyton Manning hooking up with Archie and Eli in NY for what could possibly be his final game and win of his career.

Im going with the Broncos in a Shoot Out.

More to come...
